Expect an aggressive encounter but also a cagey one with both teams desperate to avoid getting off to a losing start this season against a London rival, even if it is a League Cup fixture rather than the Championship. It will be interesting to see if Millwall under Alex Neil can repeat their performances last season, which led to them reaching the Championship playoffs.
QPR are always good at home at a narrow Loftus Road where they quickly swarm the opposition and can get on top quickly. But Millwall can’t be bullied and are aerially imposing. This has close game written all over it and it would be no surprise if the two teams could not be separated after 90 minutes.
