PSV preview: Clinging on

PSV Eindhoven have managed just two victories in their seven UEFA Champions League matches, despite one of those two victories being a 4-1 demolition of reigning English champions Liverpool at Anfield in late-November.

Under the management of Peter Bosz, PSV have been very impressive and entertaining to watch in the last couple of years and they remain sitting at the top-of-the-table in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Bayern Munich preview: Already through

Coached by Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich have already qualified for the top eight and the automatic knockout qualifying spots in the UEFA Champions League with the Bavarians having won six and lost one of their seven matches thus far.

Bayern may well rotate again but they may ne in need of a response after they suffered their first defeat of the campaign in the Bundesliga, losing by two goals to one against Augsburg at the Allianz Arena.

Spain under-21 international defender Yarek Gasiorowski is missing through suspension for this one. Ricardo Pepi is also out due to injury amid interest from Premier League side Fulham.

Bayern Munich team news: Illness doubts

Bayern Munich are dealing with some illness doubts ahead of the trip to the Netherlands with both Dayot Upamecano and Serge Gnabry potentially unavailable.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Pavlovic, Tah, Ito, Davies; Kimmich, Bischof; Olise, Karl, Diaz; Kane

Unavailable: Kim (Suspended), Stanisic (Injured), Boey (Injured), Laimer (Injured)

Questionable: Upamecano (Illness), Guerreiro (Injured), Gnabry (Illness)

PSV vs Bayern Munich prediction

PSV Eindhoven often play a style of football that is a bit gung-ho under Peter Bosz. That has been shown by the fact that seven of the 36 teams in the league phase have scored more than PSV and yet they begin the match day sitting 22nd in the table. Bayern are one of those seven teams and that means it should be a high-scoring clash but one that PSV may well fancy themselves for against a Bayern side that will simply be seeking to avoid injury in the Netherlands.

PSV vs Bayern Munich Tip: PSV to win & over 2.5 goals
