PSG Preview: Dominant PSG

Paris Saint-Germain come into this one on the back of winning their first piece of silverware last weekend as they defeated Monaco in the Trophee des Champions in Qatar last weekend thanks to a late winning goal scored by France international forward Ousmane Dembele.

PSG begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting seven points clear at the top-of-the-table with 12 victories and four draws in their 16 matches so far this season. They went into the Ligue 1 winter break on the back of a penalty shootout win in the cup against Lens, too.

Saint-Etienne Preview: Competitive St Etienne

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Saint-Etienne struggled badly at the start of this season but they have managed to earn themselves a few results to remain competitive as they sit third-from-bottom in the relegation playoff place in Ligue 1.

Olivier Dall’Oglio’s visitors come into this one on the back of their fifth win of the campaign last weekend. The Greens defeated Stade de Reims by three goals to one at Stade Geoffrey-Guichard thanks to a brace from Augustine Boakye and a strike by Leo Stassin.

PSG Team News: Kolo Muani’s future

Randal Kolo Muani is among a group of players that are injury doubts for PSG this weekend amid rumours he could be on the move with Manchester United, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur all interested in the France international forward.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho, Neves; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Dembele, Doue, Barcola

Unavailable:

Questionable: Donnarumma (Injured), Kimpembe (Injured), Mendes (Injured), Kolo Muani (Injured)

Saint-Etienne Team News: Davitashvili a doubt

Georgia international and in-form attacker Zuriko Davitashvili is an injury doubt for this weekend, whilst fellow key forward Ibrahim Sissoko is missing through suspension. New Zealand international Ben Old remains unavailable due to an ACL injury.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Larsonneur; Appiah, Batibinsika, Nade, Petrot; Bouchouari, Ekwah, Mouton; Boakye, Stassin, Cafaro

Unavailable: Monconduit (Injured), Macon (Injured), Old (Injured), Sissoko (Suspended)

Questionable: Davitashvili (Injured)

PSG vs Saint-Etienne Prediction

Paris Saint-Germain are expected to dominate proceedings here. They haven’t been overly convincing throughout this campaign, especially in the UEFA Champions League, but they remain unbeaten domestically. Saint-Etienne, with a defensive style of football, have shown themselves to be capable of being competitive but a comfortable and heavy PSG victory is to be expected for this one at Parc des Princes.

PSG vs Saint-Etienne Tip: PSG to win -1 handicap
