Preston vs Wycombe Prediction

Preston North End, under the management of Paul Heckingbottom, have eased their way into the middle-of-the-table in the second-tier after what was a poor start to the campaign.

The Lancastrians come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat to local rivals Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in their most recent outing last weekend. Prior to that defeat to playoff chasing Rovers, the hosts had been unbeaten in their previous five matches across all competitions, suffering just one defeat in their previous eight games.

Wycombe Wanderers lost manager Matt Bloomfield to Luton Town in January despite the fact the Chairboys are pushing for automatic promotion to the second-tier and they did spend big over the course of the window. 38-year-old Mike Dodds, who has been the interim coach of Sunderland on three occasions, has been appointed and his first game is at Deepdale.

Dodds managed just two victories in 13 matches as Sunderland’s interim coach last season so there will be a bit of scepticism from Wycombe supporters, despite their attacking and entertaining style. Preston are difficult to beat and have home advantage so are firm favourites.

Preston vs Wycombe Tip: Preston to win
