Preston vs Charlton Prediction

Preston North End started the season really badly but are expected to now push themselves into mid-table obscurity this year so a cup run may well tickle their fancy as they welcome League One Charlton Athletic to Deepdale this weekend.

Under the management of former Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom, Preston come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with improving Oxford United at home last weekend. The Lancastrians have now suffered just one defeat in their last four matches since Christmas with a defensive style of football.

Charlton Athletic have former Luton Town and Southampton boss Nathan Jones at the helm and the Addicks, after a bright start to the campaign, are now firmly in the middle-of-the-table in League One. After a fairly heavy summer of spending, though, they are eventually expected to put a run towards the top six and the playoff places together.

Charlton will fancy their chances of frustrating an already blunt Preston side and another typical low scoring Nathan Jones victory away from home could well be a good bet.

Preston vs Charlton Tip: Charlton to win & under 3.5 goals
