  • Porto have lost only one of their previous 13 UEFA Europa League group stage/league phase matches (W9 D3). They have won all three in the current campaign.
  • Porto have won 13 of their 15 home matches in all competitions this season (D1 L1).
  • Rangers have lost only two of their last 18 UEFA matches against Portuguese teams (W7 D9).
  • Rangers are winless in their last seven UEFA away matches (D1 L6) and have been beaten in each of the most recent five.

Porto vs Rangers prediction

Coached by Francesco Farioli, Porto have won all bar one of their Liga Portugal matches as they sit at the top-of-the-table domestically. In the UEFA Europa League, the impressive Portuguese have suffered just one loss, away at Nottingham Forest, as they search for a top eight finish and automatic round of 16 qualification.

With Danny Rohl having been appointed mid-way through the first-half of the campaign, Rangers have been improved. They even earned themselves a first victory of their UEFA Europa League league phase season last week as they defeated Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad at Ibrox in Glasgow.

Rangers famously defeated Porto on their way to the 2008 UEFA Europa League final and they will want to repeat that famous night but Porto remain the firm favourites as they push for the top eight.
