Porto vs Midtjylland Prediction

For a side who were fancied for one of the automatic qualifying spots in the league phase, it’s fair to say that Porto have underperformed in Europe this season as they find themselves hanging on to the one of the play-off spots as we head into Matchday 6.

Away defeats to Bodo/Glimt and Lazio certainly haven’t helped, while four of their five of their points have come on home turf; a dramatic draw with Man Utd followed by a 2-0 win over Hoffenheim that remains their only victory to date.

Two points better off than their opponents, Midtjylland were one of the surprise packages early on in the league phase, picking up seven points from their first three outings, but they have subsequently lost their last two at FCSB and at home to Frankfurt, so they will be eager to get back on track ahead of the winter break.

Porto haven’t been at the top of their game of late and the visitors may sense that they cause an upset here. The Danish side have scored in four of their five league phase games to date and look capable of troubling this Porto backline, but the hosts’ superior quality should ultimately shine through.

Porto vs Midtjylland Tip: Porto to win & both teams to score
