Port Vale vs Sunderland prediction

Port Vale produced an upset in midweek as they defeated Bristol City after extra-time at Vale Park, courtesy of a Ben Waine winner in the 112th minute. The Valiants have improved in League One and become more stubborn but they are well adrift at the bottom and destined for the drop.

Sunderland earned themselves a much-needed, albeit perhaps fortunate, 1-0 victory against Leeds United at Elland Road in midweek. The Black Cats have now hit that magic 40-point mark and can put a lot of resources into the FA Cup this season.

Sunderland will be expected to rotate a little bit, as they did in the previous round against Oxford United, but that shouldn't prevent a comfortable away win.

Port Vale vs Sunderland tip: Sunderland to win -1 handicap
