  • This is Poland's third U21 EURO final tournament participation in five editions.
  • Poland failed to make it through to the knockout phase from their previous two U21 EURO group participations in 2017 and 2019.
  • Poland won their first two matches in their group in their last U21 EURO participation in 2019, defeating Belgium (3-2) and Italy (1-0) before losing against Spain (0-5).
  • Georgia reached the quarter-finals on their U21 EURO final tournament debut in 2023.
  • This is first time Georgia have successfully progressed through to the finals via qualifying as they were hosts in 2023.
  • Georgia were unbeaten in the group stage at the 2023 finals with a 2-0 victory against Portugal followed by draws against Belgium (2-2) and the Netherlands (1-1). They eventually exited on penalties in the quarter-finals against Israel after a 0-0 draw.

Poland U21 vs Georgia U21 prediction

This is, as mentioned, a tough group in Slovakia, with both Portugal and France featuring alongside Poland and Georgia – so it is likely to be a crucial encounter for both sides as they try to stand a chance of a top two finish and quarter-final qualification.

Poland come into this one on the back of an entertaining 3-2 defeat of Ukraine’s U21 side in their most recent outing, during the March international break, to back up a thrilling 3-3 draw with Denmark. They take on a Georgia side that, at all levels, have been developing and emerging over recent years, and they are looking to continue that at U21 level. They defeated Croatia on penalties in their playoff to qualify for the tournament in November.

Georgia’s last three games have produced 15 goals and, given Poland’s recent results, as well as the fact both sides pretty much need to win this opener, it should be quite a fun game for the neutral.
