It has been a difficult start to Serie A for Pisa, following their promotion back to the top-flight last season, with the home team having collected just two points from their opening six matches so far this season.
The hosts come into this one on the back of a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara in their most recent outing, due to strikes from Nicolo Cambiaghi, Raul Moro, Riccardo Orsolini and Jens Odgaard.
Hellas Verona preview: Struggling Verona
Hellas Verona have seemingly been circling the drain in Serie A for some time and they have started this season very poorly with three draws and three defeats in their opening six games, under the management of Paolo Zanetti.
The visitors most recently suffered a slender 1-0 defeat at home to newly-promoted Sassuolo at the Marcantonio Bentegodi a couple of weeks ago due to a 71st minute strike scored by Andrea Pinamonti.

Pisa midfielder Idrissa Toure is missing through suspension for this weekend, whilst they also have key injury issues for summer signings such as Michel Aebischer and Calvin Stengs.

Pisa lack real quality. Alberto Gilardino had been given the job after doing a reasonable turn at Genoa but there is surely only so much he can do. They have scored just three goals in six games. A late splurge in the summer transfer window provided Verona with a higher level of quality but, again, they are also struggling with just two goals thus far and a low-scoring encounter seems very likely for this one by the leaning tower.
