Pisa preview: Steady Pisa
Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Pisa took the decision to appoint Alberto Gilardino. They have been competitive in most games, as shown by drawing half of their 20 games thus far – but they have managed just one victory all season.
The Tuscans come into this one on the back of quite an entertaining 2-2 draw with Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium in Friuli last weekend, with Marco Tramoni having given them a 13th minute lead before Henrik Meister had to snatch them a point.
Atalanta preview: Improving Bergamasci
After the departure of Gian Piero Gasperini in the summer and the short lived tenure of Ivan Juric in the first-half of this season, Atalanta have been much-improved since the appointment of Raffaele Palladino, with the Bergamasci beginning to motor.
They come into this one on the back of three successive victories, having most recently comfortably defeated Torino by two goals to nil last week, courtesy of goals scored by Charles De Ketelaere and Mario Pasalic.
Pisa team news: Loads of issues
Pisa have plenty of issues for this one with the likes of Mateus Lusuardi and M’Bala Nzola now set to be missing through injury, while defender Antonio Caracciolo is unavailable due to suspension.
Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Scuffet; Calabresi, Coppola, Canestrelli; Angori, Marin, Aebischer, Leris; Tramoni; Moreo, Meister

Questionable:
Atalanta team news: Kossounou should be back
Odilon Kossounou should have returned by the time Atalanta head to Pisa, with the Ivory Coast having been knocked out of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, but Ademola Lookman remains in Morocco with Nigeria.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Scalvini, Hien, Ahanor; Zappacosta, De Roon, Ederson, Bernasconi; De Ketelaere, Zalewski; Krstovic
Unavailable: Djimsiti (Injured), Kolasinac (Injured), Bakker (Injured), Bellanova (Injured), Lookman (International duty)
Questionable: Kossounou (International duty)
Pisa vs Atalanta prediction
Pisa come into this having shown some further resilience in Udine last weekend and they will fancy themselves to really stay intact with the relegation battle but they simply have to start winning sooner rather than later. However, up against such strong opposition in Atalanta, the visitors will have to be viewed as firm favourites for this one against what is an average, if fighting, side.
