Peter Wright vs Noa-Lynn van Leuven prediction
It has been arguably the worst year in over a decade of Peter Wright's career and the entertaining Scott will be desperate to rekindle the magic at Ally Pally this December.
After making it to the quarter finals at this event last year, Wright has had an incredibly difficult year and he was not selected to participate in the Premier League for the first time in 12 years.
He will look to his performances last year in this event for confidence as he stunned the defending champion Luke Humphries on his way to the quarters. He will have to dig deep to find some of that form if he is to get anywhere close to that this year.
He takes on Noa-Lynn van Leuven Who made history last year by becoming the first transgender player to appear in the PDC World Darts Championships.
Van Leuven was defeated 3-1 by Kevin Doets and then had struggles early in the year before taking a short break for mental health reasons.
Van Leuven Returned to action in April and won two women’s series titles to boost her confidence.
She comes into this event and match as the clear underdog and it is hard to make much of a case for her even against the struggling Peter Wright. The Scot will relish the big crowd and should have enough quality to get the win.
