Although they remain top of the A-League heading into Saturday’s games, it’s been far from plain sailing for Auckland FC as of late. Only one win in their last five league matches is testament to that and it’s a slump they must snap out of with in-form Newcastle Jets coming up right behind them. This is the exact sort of fixture that should work to their advantage.
Perth Glory are currently tenth-place in the table and have lost three of their last four in the league. Auckland are the stronger team both in terms of individual skill and as a collective unit. Provided they aren’t wasteful in front of goal, the expectation is that the away side will do enough to pick up the three points here.
