Paris preview: Steady Parisians

Following their promotion to the top-flight of French football last season, Paris are one of the wealthiest clubs in Europe and flexed their financial muscles over the summer as they try and mount a serious challenge for the top-half in Ligue 1 this season.

The Parisians, under the management of Stephane Gilli, come into this one on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 defeat to a similarly impressive Lens side at Stade Bollaert-Delelis in their most recent outing up in the north of France last weekend.

Nantes preview: Struggling Canaries

Over the summer, Nantes parted company with manager Antoine Kombouare and replaced him with Luis Castro. The Portuguese coach was given a tough fixture list and results were poor, despite steady and reasonable performances.

However, there is now immense pressure on him with Nantes coming into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Lille last weekend. The visitors have managed just one win in their eight matches so far this season.

Paris team news: Several doubts

Paris are dealing with several doubts for this one as defender Thibault De Smet and midfielder Mathieu Cafaro are potentially sidelined alongside attacking duo Pierre-Yves Hamel and Julien Lopez.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Nkambadio; Traore, Chergui, Otavio, Kolodziejczak; Lopez, Lees-Melou, Camara; Kebbal, Krasso, Simon

Unavailable:

Questionable: De Smet (Injured), Cafaro (Injured), Hamel (Injured), Julien Lopez (Injured)

Nantes team news: A few injuries

Nantes head to the capital city with a few confirmed absentees as both Mayckel Lahdo and Johann Lepenant sidelined alongside former Arsenal defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Lopes; Kelvin Amian, Awaziem, Tati, Leroux; Mwanga; Guirassy, Kone, Tabibou, Abline; Mostafa Mohamed

Unavailable: Lahdo (Injured), Coquelin (Injured), Lepenant (Injured)

Questionable:

Paris vs Nantes prediction

With their home advantage, Paris will fancy their chances of taking the game to Nantes. The home team have managed three victories and a draw as they begin the weekend sitting four points outside of the top seven and the European spots. Nantes will be expected to be defensive and they have shown that they can be solid but Paris remain the firm favourites for this one, especially with their home advantage.

Paris vs Nantes tip: Double chance – Paris to win or draw
