Paris Saint-Germain preview: Still winning
Paris Saint-Germain have been some way off their best this season and their hard-fought derby day victory against Paris FC at the Parc des Princes at the weekend only moved them to win a point of league leaders Lens in Ligue 1.
However, Luis Enrique’s Parisiens remain the team to beat in Europe, having won five trophies in 2025, including a historic first ever treble, and it all began by beating Monaco in the Trophee des Champions last year.
Marseille preview: Entertaining but flawed
Roberto De Zerbi’s Olympique de Marseille come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss to a previously struggling Nantes side at Stade Velodrome at the weekend as they went down to nine men with goals from Fabien Centonze and Remy Cabella.
Marseille have now been dealt a blow in the French title race as they now sit eight points behind Lens at the top-of-the-table with their focus now likely to have to switch to ensuring they squeeze through to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
Paris Saint-Germain team news: Still no Hakimi
Achraf Hakimi is away at AFCON with the Moroccans, while some fringe players such as Lee Kang-in and Ibrahim Mbaye are confirmed injury absentees for this one.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Chevalier; Zaire-Emery, Zabarnyi, Willian Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia

Marseille team news: Still no Aguerd
Arthur Vermeeren and Bilal Nadir were sent off against Nantes the other day but they are now suspended, while Nayef Aguerd is away at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Rulli; Pavard, Egan-Riley, Medina; Weah, Vermeeren, Hojbjerg, Emerson; Greenwood, Igor Paixao; Aubameyang
Unavailable: Aguerd (International duty)

Paris Saint-Germain vs Marseille prediction
PSG do not have as much depth as they perhaps would like and they probably won’t be able to make too many changes for this one, nor would they want to. Marseille have shown they can be competitive, having beaten the Parisiens in Ligue 1 a couple of months ago, and the visitors will be expected to again take the game to the defending champions. However, PSG are firm favourites in what should be a high-scoring encounter.
