Panama team news: Unlikely to change

Needing a point to make sure of their quarter-final spot, the Panamanians are unlikely to make too many changes for this one. They are perhaps still reeling from key midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla being ruled out on the eve of the tournament.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Orlando Mosquera; Michael Amir Murillo, Fidel Escobar, Andres Andrade, Jorge Gutierrez; Anibal Godoy, Carlos Harvey; Jose Luis Rodriguez, Cristian Martinez, Ismael Diaz; Tomas Rodriguez

Jamaica team news: Potential for Antonio

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio pulled himself back to two substitute appearances in this tournament thus far after his car crash in December. He could well start in what may turn out to be a must win game against Panama.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Blake; Lembikisa, King, Pinnock, Bell; Latibeaudiere; Bailey, Russell, Atkinson, Gray; Antonio

Panama vs Jamaica prediction

Panama qualified for their first and only ever FIFA World Cup back in 2018 but they have perhaps have an even better squad nowadays. They began their CONCACAF Gold Cup group stage campaign with a 5-2 hammering of Guadeloupe before a hard-fought 1-0 defeat of Guatemala the other day.

Under the management of Steve McClaren, Jamaica hammered Guatemala in FIFA World Cup qualification earlier this month before losing to the same opposition in the opener of this competition. They did then manage to overcome Guadeloupe by two goals to one the other day thanks to goals from Jon Russell and Leon Bailey.

Panama have become a little more adventurous with an impressive defensive foundation so both teams scoring could well be a good bet for this crucial clash.
