Palmeiras vs Flamengo prediction

Coached by Abel Ferreira, Palmeiras have become an excellent side for even the world stage, as shown by reaching the semi-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States in the summer. Flamengo have also emerged as a force, having been quarter-finalists under the management of Filipe Luis, with the two teams having not only been the best teams in Brazil for the last 12 months, but also in South America.

They are both involved in an extremely competitive Brazilian Serie A title race, with Palmeiras reaching the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores final on the back of a semi-final victory over LDU Quito, while Flamengo managed to edge past Racing.

Palmeiras reached the round of 16 of this competition last season with Flamengo getting to the quarter-finals. Palmeiras were back-to-back winners in 2020 and 2021, while Flamengo sandwiched those victories in 2019 and 2022.

Palmeiras play a slightly more front-foot style but, as is often the case for a Libertadores final, this is unlikely to be a thriller for the neutral and a low-scoring encounter is to be expected in Peru.

Palmeiras vs Flamengo tip: Under 2.5 goals
