Key Stats

  • Palestine are without a win in their last nine World Cup qualifying matches (D4 L5).
  • Iraq are unbeaten in their previous 17 international matches against Palestine (W14 D3).
  • Iraq have lost only one of their last 16 World Cup qualifying matches (W10 D5).

Palestine vs Iraq Prediction

This game is being played in the neutral venue of the Amman International Stadium in Jordan’s capital city, Amman, due to the ongoing war between Palestine and Israel. They have remained competitive despite their plentiful off-field issues.

The Palestinians have managed three draws with four defeats in their seven matches of AFC’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They most recently suffered a 3-1 loss to the aforementioned Jordan the other day in a game in which all four goals were scored in the first-half of the game.

They now face an Iraqi side that, under the management of Jesus Casas, begin the eighth match day of the third round sitting below the aforementioned Jordan on goal difference as they chase automatic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They were held to a 2-2 draw by Kuwait the other day in a dramatic contest in which they came from 2-0 down deep in stoppage-time.

Palestine have, as mentioned, been competitive but the likelihood remains of Iraq avoiding defeat in this one and turning up the pressure on South Korea and Jordan, who face each other.

Palestine vs Iraq Tip: Double chance – Iraq to win or draw
