Oxford vs Southampton prediction

Gary Rowett’s Oxford United come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic at The Valley, last weekend. The U’s are now winless in four matches since a surprise defeat of Ipswich Town, and that run of form has left them sitting in the bottom three and the relegation places.

Southampton, coached by Tonda Eckert, begin the Boxing Day round of fixtures tucked inside the top-half of the table after major improvement post-Will Still. The Saints shared a 1-1 draw with league leaders but ten-man Coventry City last week, a few days after a frustrating 2-1 loss to struggling Norwich City.

The form of Southampton appeared unsustainable and it is beginning to show that it is, so siding with Oxford may well be the way to go for this one at the Kassam Stadium.
