Olympiakos vs Qarabag Prediction

As mentioned, Olympiakos enjoyed success in the European competition last season with former Sevilla boss Jose Luis Mendilibar looking to emulate that success in this competition.

The Greek giants sit at the top-of-the-table in the Greek Super League with the hosts sharing a 1-1 draw with Panathinaikos in a typically hostile Derby of the Eternal Enemies at the weekend. That followed on from Olympiakos’ slender 1-0 win at the Estadio do Dragao against Porto to mean they are unbeaten in their last 18 matches across all competitions.

Qarabag have been dominant in the Azeri Premier League for the last decade or so and that has been the case once again in the 2024/25 season. However, they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Turan at the weekend and they have struggled throughout the UEFA Europa League campaign with just one win and six defeats in their seven league phase matches.

With Morocco international striker Ayoub El Kaabi among some other high pedigree players and simplistic but intense tactics of Jose Luis Mendilibar, Olympiakos appear perfectly suited for European football and a comfortable home win is to be expected for this one.
