Congo will have an eye on the other Group D fixture taking place but a win here by multiple goals over Nigeria would be enough for them.

Nigeria vs Congo prediction

Whilst Congo currently sit outside of the top two in Group D, qualification for the knockout stage is still in their own hands. Victory by at least two clear goals in this one would see them finish inside the top two. Sudan and Senegal face off at the same time with both two points behind Congo, but Congo’s goal difference is only one goal less than that of Senegal.

Nigeria are without a point to their name after two rounds of fixtures, losing to Senegal 1-0 before being thrashed 4-0 by Sudan. Their backline are likely to be lacking confidence right now and Congo should be able to take advantage of such fragility within that Nigerian defence. Consider backing Congo with a -1 handicap here.

Nigeria vs Congo tip: Congo to win with -1 handicap
