THE PREDICTION

It was yet another disappointing year for Detroit Lions last time out as they went 5-11 to finish bottom of the NFC North. They have also lost QB Matt Stafford with Jared Goff being traded in the opposite direction, although many believe that the Lions came out second best in that trade. Goff and his new teammates take on San Francisco 49ers in this season opener with the road team suffering a poor season too, only managing to win six matches. That was a far cry from the team that lost out in the Super Bowl the year prior, although injuries played a huge part in their woes last year and they should be able to respond with a win in this opening contest.
