Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest prediction

It was late agony for Newcastle last weekend as they were seemingly heading for an excellent 1-0 win against Arsenal only for the Gunners to strike twice late on, including a 96th-minute winner from centre-back Gabriel from a corner.

The Magpies responded in perfect fashion on Wednesday though, with Anthony Gordon scoring two penalties in a 0-4 win at Union SG in the UEFA Champions League.

Visiting Nottingham Forest are in a real rut right now, with the recently-appointed Ange Postecoglou so far failing to inspire an upturn in results.

Last season's surprise package are winless in their last eight games across all competitions, since beating Brentford on the opening weekend of the season, and in the last week have suffered embarrassing home defeats to promoted side Sunderland (0-1) in the Premier League and Danish outfit Midtjylland (2-3) in the UEFA Europa League.

The struggling visitors look there for the taking this weekend, and with Newcastle finding their scoring boots midweek, we're backing them to record a comfortable victory at St James' Park.

Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest tip: Newcastle to win & over 2.5 goals
