Newcastle preview: League form needs to improve
A Danny Welbeck double was enough to see Brighton defeat Newcastle 2-1 last weekend, and condemn the Magpies to a third defeat in eight Premier League games in 2025-26.
Eddie Howe's side bounced back emphatically in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday though, with Anthony Gordon inspiring them to a 3-0 triumph over Benfica to make it two wins from their first three games in the league phase.
Fulham preview: On the slide
Fulham have now suffered three successive defeats in the Premier League, with losses to Aston Villa and Bournemouth followed by a 0-1 reverse at home to table-toppers Arsenal last Saturday.
This is another tough fixture for the Cottagers, although they have won the last two meetings between the sides, including a 1-2 victory at St James' Park in February of this year with goals from Raul Jimenez and Rodrigo Jimenez handing Marco Silva's side a come-from-behind success.

Newcastle vs Fulham prediction
Newcastle have played some excellent football at times this season, particularly in Europe, but they need to start putting together a run of results in the Premier League as they currently lie in the bottom half of the table.
This is perhaps a good fixture for them, as Fulham are struggling a little right now and are staring a fourth straight league defeat in the face.
With Anthony Gordon in sparkling form midweek and Nick Woltemade having settled into life in Tyneside seamlessly, we're backing the hosts in this one.
