Newcastle vs Brighton Prediction

As mentioned, Newcastle United head to Wembley Stadium in a couple of weeks where they face Liverpool in the final of the EFL Cup. Brighton and Hove Albion head up to St James’ Park in much-improved form as they search for a return to the national stadium.

Newcastle most recently suffered a 2-0 defeat away to the aforementioned Liverpool in the Premier League in midweek with goals scored by midfield duo Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister. The Magpies have now suffered three defeats in their last four matches in the league, denting their chances of securing UEFA Champions League qualification.

Brighton and Hove Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler came under significant pressure in the aftermath of their 7-0 loss to Nottingham Forest in early February but the Seagulls have now enjoyed four successive victories across all competitions, most recently defeating AFC Bournemouth by two goals to one at the AMEX Stadium in midweek.

Newcastle may well be without Alexander Isak and their focus could be on the other cup so, given their form to boot, a double chance bet in favour of Brighton could well be good value.

Newcastle vs Brighton Tip: Double chance – Brighton to win or draw
