This was the Jets’ seven straight A-League victory, an incredible run which has seen them go on to establish a four-point lead at the top of the table heading into the weekend.
Macarthur are unbeaten in their last four, although three of those finished as score draws. The other game saw Macarthur smash Melbourne City 6-2 and if they are on their game, Macarthur are capable of going toe-to-toe with their opponents from an attacking perspective. But Newcastle Jets’ all-round game and set-up has been so superior to anything else we’ve seen this season of late and makes them the team worth backing to extend that winning run to eight in a high-scoring battle.
