New South Wales Waratahs vs British & Irish Lions prediction
The Lions come into this having comfortably beaten Super Rugby Pacific pair Western Force and Queensland Reds, with the British contingent scoring eight tries in both of those victories.
With the short turnaround after Wednesday’s win over the latter, Lions head coach Andy Farrell has made 14 changes for this one, although recent call-up Owen Farrell is yet to join up with the squad and will take no part in this match.
With warm-up games running out for players to stake a claim for a place in the Lions team for the upcoming Tests against Australia, there will certainly be no lack of motivation in this match and another convincing win for Farrell’s talented squad is expected in Sydney.
The Waratahs were one of the weaker sides in the Super Rugby Pacific season and, like the Force and the Reds before them, they will struggle to compete over the 80 minutes.
