Nantes preview: Likely strugglers
Nantes come into this one on the back of a goalless draw with an underperforming and regressing Stade Brest side a couple of weeks ago before the October international break, meaning they have managed just one win in their opening seven matches.
The Canaries appointed Luis Castro over the summer to try and fight the drop, following the second stint in charge of Antoine Kombouare. Their performances have been better than their results suggest.
Lille preview: Strong Lille
Former Olympique Lyonnais boss Bruno Genesio has done a very good job in charge of Lille but the task for the northerners this season is to try and get back into the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots in Ligue 1.
They come into this one on the back of a three-match winless run of form before the break a couple of weeks ago, most recently sharing a 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
Nantes team news: Several doubts
Nantes have plenty of doubts for this one ahead of the visit of Lille as Johann Lepenant is potentially unavailable alongside both Francis Coquelin and Tylel Tati.
Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Lopes; Amian, Awaziem, Mwanga, Leroux; Kwon; Lahdo, Hong, Tabibou, Abline; Mostafa Mohamed
Unavailable:
Questionable: Lepenant (Injured), Tati (Injured), Coquelin (Injured)
Lille team news: Couple of issues
Lille are dealing with a couple of injury issues this weekend as Ousmane Toure is a confirmed absentee due to a knee problem, whilst Alexsandro is also a doubt.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Ozer; Meunier, Ngoy, Mandi, Perraud; Bentaleb, Bouaddi, Andre; Haraldsson, Giroud, Fernandez-Pardo
Unavailable: Toure (Injured)
Questionable: Alexsandro (Injured)
Nantes vs Lille prediction
Nantes head into this one on the back of a steady start to the campaign in terms of their performance level and Luis Castro’s side are expected to eventually push themselves away from the bottom three, albeit the pre-season expectations were for them to struggle. They come up against another tough side, though, after an unfortunate fixture list and a low-scoring away win remains the likeliest outcome for this one in Brittany.
Nantes vs Lille tip: Lille to win & under 3.5 goals
