Jason Jackson: The former Bellator welterweight kingpin looking to make a statement
Former Bellator welterweight champion, Jason Jackson (19-6) makes his first appearance since dropping a decision to Thad Jean under the PFL banner last June. A heavy handed striker, “The Ass-Kicking Machine” is the last and only man to hand Yaroslav Amosov a loss in MMA; a result that only continues to age better in light of the Ukrainian’s white hot start to life in the UFC. One of Bellator’s most grizzled veterans, Jackson has fought the likes of Paul Daley, Benson Henderson, and Douglas Lima to underline his credentials as one of the most respected combatants to ever wear the red and blue gloves.
Jefferson Creighton: The TUF alum aims for the biggest win of his career by a considerable stretch
LFA veteran, Jeff Creighton (12-2-1) finds himself in the biggest fight of his career following an unsuccessful campaign on TUF 33 that saw him bow out at the semi-final stages of the competition. A lanky grappler with five wins by submission, Creighton has proved to be somewhat of a decision merchant as his career has advanced; “Jazzy” hasn’t scored a finish since 2022. While he’s relatively young in the game at 30 years of age, Creighton looks to have found his ceiling at this point in proceedings and doesn’t have any particularly impressive wins on his resume.
Jason Jackson vs Jefferson Creighton prediction
Originally scheduled to face Lorenz Larkin, Jackson is facing a noticeable step down in competition from “The Monsoon” here. Creighton has never been much of a finishing threat throughout his career and has yet to beat a fighter who many would label as legitimately elite.
On the other side of the cage, Jackson may be 35, but he’s still got that dog in him. While “The Ass-Kicking Machine” was primarily a decision fighter for much of his career in Bellator, he’s started to find finishes in the twilight of his career, earning impressive stoppages over Andrey Koreshkov, Ray Cooper, and the aforementioned Amosov.
Jackson also has a win over Douglas Lima, a fighter who has undoubtedly declined but arguably still poses more of a threat than a fighter of Creighton’s caliber. Throw in the fact that Thad Jean only just squeaked by Jackson en route to winning the 2025 PFL Welterweight Tournament and this one only seems to favour him more.
Creighton hasn’t been finished since the infancy of his career, but I like Jackson’s chances here. While it’s possible that this proves to be the fight where the wheels fall off for the aging Jamaican, the pick is Jackson to bomb “Jazzy” on the feet in the early goings to earn a TKO victory.
Prediction: Jason Jackson to win by TKO
