Mozambique are the team heading into the final couple of games with a chance of FIFA World Cup qualification, rather than Guinea, which is quite a surprise for many.

Key Stats

  • Mozambique have won six of their last nine World Cup qualifying matches (L3).
  • Mozambique have lost only two of their last 15 World Cup qualifying matches in Mozambique (W8 D5).
  • Mozambique have kept nine clean sheets in their last 13 World Cup qualifying matches in Mozambique.
  • Guinea have won only three of their last 17 World Cup qualifying matches (D6 L8).

Mozambique vs Guinea Prediction

With two games of CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to go in Group G, Mozambique have collected 15 points from their eight matches, sitting level with Uganda and for behind a strong Algeria side at the top.

Second place will be enough for a playoff spot and the hope of earning themselves an intercontinental playoff place for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Mozambique most recently comfortably defeated Botswana by two goals to nil last month, whilst a strong Guinea side were able to hold the aforementioned Algeria to a goalless draw, but that hasn’t helped them in their pursuit of finishing second in Group G.

Guinea will head to Mozambique as the team with more pedigree and general quality, but with home advantage and their form, Mozambique have to be viewed as slight favourites.

Mozambique vs Guinea Tip: Double chance – Mozambique to win or draw
