Both these two nations have enjoyed penalty success so far in this competition. Each advanced through to the round of 16 via a shootout, Morocco defeating USA whilst Brazil overcame Paraguay. The following round saw Brazil draw again in a high-profile encounter against France, leading to another penalty shootout in which they prevailed once more. Morocco meanwhile, edged out Mali by three goals to two in a breathless battle.

This quarter-final is unlikely to see the number of goals that we saw in Morocco’s last game. Brazil’s backline is significantly tighter but they have struggled in front of goal lately.
