Shamrock Rovers gave an excellent account of themselves in the league phase but face one of the toughest play-off fixtures on paper against Molde, with the first-leg being in Norway.

Molde vs Shamrock Rovers Prediction

Whilst Molde may have ended up four points behind Shamrock Rovers in the league phase table, the Norwegians are a better team than what they showed and it would be no surprise to see them step up a gear now we’re into knockout competition. Shamrock Rovers meanwhile, are in uncharted territory having gone this deep into the tournament and how they handle such pressure remains to be seen.

Being at home, Molde will no doubt deploy an offensive playstyle and look to impose themselves upon the visitors. But Shamrock have consistently shown that they can carve out opportunities and will no doubt be a threat from set pieces and the counter-attack. When considering that Shamrock found the net in all six of their league phase fixtures, it’s well worth backing both teams to score in this one.

Molde vs Shamrock Rovers Tip: Both teams to score
