YOUSSEF ZALAL VS JARNO ERRENS LOWDOWN
Youssef ‘The Moroccan Devil’ Zalal meets Jarno Errens in the featherweight division and both bring identical 14-5-1 records into this bout.
Zalal is riding a four-fight win streak into this one and he returned to the UFC after a brief spell away from the organisation with a submission win over Billy Quarantillo in his last bout in March. He reeled off three wins in a row in the Sparta Combat League before that, and while his confidence will no doubt be boosted from this run, he has to prove it against better calibre opposition now.
Dutchman Jarno Errens has not had it all his own way since joining the UFC. He lost his first two bouts via decision but beat Steven Nguyen on the scorecards in his last fight in March. He will look to consolidate his place in the organisation with a win here.
YOUSSEF ZALAL VS JARNO ERRENS PREDICTION
You can easily see why this bout has been made and it is fascinating on so many levels. Zalal will be full of confidence after two wins by submission and two TKOs in his last four bouts. He faces a step up in quality though against Errens who will only improve after winning his last fight.
Our marginal preference goers to Zalal and that is because he just appears to have more routes to victory. He has the edge in knockout power and possesses good submissions. Errens may have the cardio edge which may benefit him if the fight goes all three rounds, but Zalal just has the edges in various departments that make us lean towards the Moroccan Devil in this one.
PREDICTION: Youssef Zalal to win
