STEVE GARCIA VS KYLE NELSON LOWDOWN

Steve Garcia (16-5) is on something of a tear in the UFC having won his last four bouts all via knockout and the ‘Mean Machine’ has a good opportunity to move up the rankings as he steps in for the injured Calvin Kattar. Garcia steps up after he TKO’d Seung Woo Choi in 96 seconds at UFC on ESPN 60 just seven weeks ago.

Kyle ‘The Monster’ Nelson, a native of Ontario, Canada, brings a 16-5-1 record into this fight and he has won his last three fights in the Octagon. After back-to-back wins via the judges’ scorecards, he TKO’d Bill Algeo at UFC on ESPN 54 at the end of March. The opportunity to fight Kattar was a big one for Nelson and he will have to move past that falling through and focus on Garcia now.

STEVE GARCIA VS KYLE NELSON PREDICTION

Despite coming in as a late replacement for this fight, Steve Garcia comes into this bout as favourite. Garcia has been knocking people out for fun and his confidence is sky high right now. Nelson is a tough competitor however and he will not be phased by the loss of the Kattar fight.

It is hard to back against Garcia’s knockout power but Nelson has the ability to stand with him but then get the takedowns. He is that fraction more skilled and well-rounded and the value for us is on Nelson to edge this and potentially on the scorecards too.

PREDICTION: Kyle Nelson to win
