Metz vs Lyon prediction

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Metz begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting rock-bottom in Ligue 1 with just three victories in their 18 matches this season. The home team most recently suffered a 2-1 loss to Strasbourg in their most recent outing at Stade de la Meinau last weekend.

They now face an Olympique Lyonnais side that sit tucked inside the top four ahead of this match day. Lyon, coached by Paulo Fonseca, are in excellent form of late and their 1-0 defeat of Young Boys in the UEFA Europa League means that they have now suffered just one defeat in their last 11 matches across all competitions.

Metz are a very poor team and have appeared destined for Ligue 2 for a while and so Lyon should come out on top as they push for a top three finish in the French top-flight.

Metz vs Lyon tip: Lyon to win
