Melbourne Victory have had an inconsistent run of results recently, but their form hasn’t fallen off a cliff, unlike that of their opponents here. Brisbane Roar are coming off the back of three straight defeats, giving up nine goals in the process. Their last away fixture saw them hammered 4-1 by Newcastle Jets and whilst the Victory don’t boast the same quality, they’ve enough firepower to hurt Brisbane from an attacking standpoint.
It's important not to ignore the mental aspect of suffering such a run of results. The team just aren’t clicking defensively and heads drop once things start to go against them. Melbourne Victory showed their quality last time out at home, thrashing a top three side in Sydney FC by four goals to nil and they have to be favoured to win this time around as well.
