Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers prediction
The Melbourne Storm were defeated by the Canberra Raiders 20-18 in golden point of the final match in Magic round last week. As has become a trend for the Storm, they jumped out to an early lead and looked irresistible before being run down late and eventually losing on a penalty goal in the 85th minute.
The West Tigers made it two wins on the trot with a 34-28 victory against the Dragons. Four tries in the 20 minutes leading up to half-time set them up for a comfortable victory. It may have played out differently if Jayden S’ua correctly places the ball for a Dragons try however Jahream Bula went 102 metres in the other direction for a potential 12-point swing and the Tigers are undefeated since Lachlan Galvin’s re-introduction to the team.
Some of the Wests Tigers darkest days have come at the hands of the Storm and they have lost the last seven meetings between the two sides, including a 40-28 defeat last year and a 66-16 hammering during the Covid relocation.
Overall, at home the Storm have won 9 of their past 10 matches and we think they add another W to the tally in this one. If they have their usual fast start, the Tigers won’t have the necessary firepower to play catch-up.
Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers tip: Melbourne Storm to win by 13+ points
