Key Stats

  • Mauritania are without a win in their last 13 World Cup qualifying matches (D4 L9). Since a 4-0 victory against South Sudan in October 2015.
  • Mauritania have won only two of their previous 29 World Cup qualifying matches (D7 L20).
  • Congo DR have lost only three of their last 16 World Cup qualifying matches (W8 D5).
  • Congo DR have only failed to score in two of their last 22 World Cup qualifying matches.
  • Congo DR have won seven of their last ten international matches (D1 L2).

Mauritania vs DR Congo Prediction

In Group B of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign, Mauritania remain winless after five matches with two draws and three defeats, whilst the Democratic Republic of Congo sitting above Senegal and just one point behind group leaders Sudan ahead of the sixth match day of the campaign.

Mauritania shared a topsy turvy 2-2 draw with Togo the other day in a game in which they went 1-0 down and then 2-1. The Democratic Republic of Congo, on the other hand, most recently defeated South Sudan by a goal to nil thanks to a first-half stoppage-time winner scored by Theo Bongonda.

Mauritania can be competitive and have been improved in recent years but it still remains most likely that DR Congo maintain their push for a first FIFA World Cup appearance since turning out in 1974 as Zaire.

Mauritania vs DR Congo Tip: Double chance – Democratic Republic of Congo to win or draw
