Mauritania vs Cabo Verde Prediction

Mauritania have played at each of the last three CAF Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and they have a real chance of qualification via the head-to-head rule this time around.

The Mauritanians have a generally limited squad but avoiding defeat against Botswana in Francistown the other day means they have a better head-to-head record and will finish above them if they win and Botswana lose to a strong Egyptian side.

Cabo Verde have also been one of the more entertaining teams to watch in Africa in the last few years but the islanders come into this one having already been eliminated, despite a more than respectable 1-1 draw with the aforementioned Egyptians the other day.

Mauritania have the better motivation to win this one but it will still be a difficult game against a Cabo Verde side that have simply underperformed during this qualifying campaign.
