Martin Schindler was one of the more impressive performers in the first round, averaging 99.14 in his 3-1 defeat of Stephen Burton.
The diminutive German, who has won both a Euro Tour event and Players Championship event in 2025, can play to a very high standard on his day, and is bidding for a third-round spot for the third time in his last four appearances at Alexandra Palace.
For Keane Barry, this is a fairly quick turnaround given that his first-round contest took place on Friday evening, when the 23-year-old Irishman saw off the challenge of Australian debutant Tim Pusey.
Barry controlled the game and averaged just under 93 in a whitewash 3-0 victory, but he will not have it so easy here. Schindler tends to relish being on the big stage, and simply looks like he has an extra gear compared to Barry.
