Coached by former Brighton and Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi, the controversial squad of Olympique de Marseille have managed to be as entertaining as ever upon their return from the winter break, but that has been matched by inconsistent.
After a defeat on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain in the Trophee des Champions, Marseille have scored 14 goals in away wins against Bayeux and Angers, having returned from the break with a 2-0 defeat at home to Nantes at Stade Velodrome.

Liverpool have tried to become more defensive and more controlled this season to protect themselves against what has been a woeful campaign thus far. Marseille will fancy themselves to get on the front foot and attack at the Velodrome. They have an abundance of attacking options and they should be a side that are backed against a Liverpool side that have gone 12 unbeaten but a lot of that is against the run of things and it certainly flatters them.
