Marseille vs Ajax prediction

Roberto De Zerbi’s fierce and entertaining Olympique de Marseille have been typically inconsistent in Ligue 1 throughout the campaign. They took the game to 15-time European champions Real Madrid in the first match day at the Bernabeu a couple of weeks ago, but did eventually succumb to a 2-1 loss at Los Blancos.

They now take on an Ajax side that are once again into a new era after the departure of Francesco Farioli over the summer with the appointment of Johnny Heitinga. The Amsterdam-based outfit started their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-0 loss to last season’s runners’ up Internazionale at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Ajax do appear to be some way off being a team that can be competitive in this season’s competition, but Marseille are hardly the most consistent and trustworthy of sides and so it should be a fun watch for the neutral.

Marseille vs Ajax Tip: Over 2.5 goals
