Man Utd vs Valerenga prediction

This is very much new territory for Man Utd, whose only previous European campaign saw them lose in qualifying round 2 in 2023-24. Finishing third in the Women's Super League last season, they defeated PSV, Hammarby and Brann in qualifying to make it into the inaugural league phase.

Elisabeth Terland, who hit two hat-tricks in qualifying, was instrumental in sending the Red Devils into the league phase.

Valerenga made their debut in the group stage last season, earning an excellent draw at home to Bayern Munich (the only draw in the entire group stage) but otherwise losing their other five games. In the current campaign, the Norwegian champions navigated their way past Helsinki, Slavia Praha and Ferencvaros in qualifying.

Home advantage is key here for Man Utd, who will be keen to get their European campaign off to a positive start. They have played some tough fixtures domestically of late against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, and that will make them battle-hardened for this contest. Elisabeth Terland's form in qualifying makes her a hugely tempting option in the goalscorer markets, too.

Man Utd vs Valerenga tip: Man Utd to win & Elisabeth Terland to score anytime
