There have been some titanic battles between Man City and Liverpool in recent years, and the two Premier League giants will once again face off this weekend at the Etihad.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Sky Sports / US – USA Network

How to watch online: UK – Sky Go / US – Fubo

Man City preview: Unstoppable Haaland

Man City got back on track in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory against Bournemouth last time out, with Erling Haaland predictably among the goals with two first-half strikes against the Cherries.

The deadly Norwegian striker was also on the scoresheet on Wednesday, this time against former club Dortmund in a 4-1 victory for City in the UEFA Champions League which leaves them in fourth place in the league phase table, and unbeaten after four games.

Liverpool preview: Revival?

After a turbulent period which saw them lose six out of seven games across all competitions, Liverpool have enjoyed a positive week having beaten Aston Villa in the Premier League (2-0) and Real Madrid in the Champions League (1-0).

Both those victories came at Anfield though, and it has been nearly two months since they last won away from home in the Premier League, which was a late 0-1 victory at promoted side Burnley.

Man City team news: Rodri unlikely

Mateo Kovacic is the only player definitely missing through injury but Pep Guardiola has stated that no risks will be taken with Rodri, who could miss out once again.

Rayan Cherki has caught the eye of late and is pushing for a start, but it remains to be seen how Guardiola fits him into a team that also includes Tijjani Reijnder and Phil Foden.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Reilly; Gonzalez; Bernardo, Reijnders, Foden, Doku; Haaland

Unavailable: Kovacic (Injured)

Questionable: Rodri (Rested)

Liverpool team news: Isak close

A late call will be made on Alexander Isak's involvement, while Alisson and Jeremie Frimpong will not be ready to return to the squad until after the international break.

Milos Kerkez could come back in at left-back should fatigue be an issue for Andy Robertson, but the latter will likely start if he has sufficiently recovered from Tuesday's night's European encounter.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Mamardashvili; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Ekitike, Gakpo

Unavailable: Alisson (Injured), Leoni (Injured), Frimpong (Injured), Bajcetic (Injured), Danns (Injured)

Questionable: Isak Injured)

Man City vs Liverpool prediction

It's usually the case that one or the other of these two sides is top of the Premier League table when they face off, but both teams are chasing runaway leaders Arsenal right now.

Liverpool are unbeaten in the last four contests between the two, winning both league fixtures last season, but they have proven themselves to be highly vulnerable this season, especially defensively.

Despite a couple of positive results for Liverpool this week, Man City look more than capable of breaking the Reds' rearguard, but having conceded in each of their last four games in all competitions, are susceptible to concede themselves.

Over 2.5 goals is worth a look here.
