Man City preview: Strong City

Manchester City are some way off the imperious versions of themselves in the recent past but they have found some good form and come into this one on the back of a comfortable 3-1 defeat of AFC Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium the other day.

In their three UEFA Champions League matches so far this season, City have picked up seven points with victories against Napoli and Villarreal either side of a fairly frustrating 2-2 draw against Monaco at Stade Louis II.

Borussia Dortmund preview: Fun in the UCL

Borussia Dortmund have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the UEFA Champions League thus far, with only defending champions Paris Saint-Germain scoring more, 13, than Dortmund, 12, in their three matches.

After a 4-4 draw with Juventus in Turin, in which they were 4-2 up going into second-half stoppage-time, they have gone on to enjoy emphatic home victories against Athletic Club and then FC Copenhagen.

Man City team news: Second guessing Pep

It is always difficult to second guess and predict a Pep Guardiola lineup, especially in Europe. There is just one absentee as Mateo Kovacic remains unavailable for City.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Stones, Dias, O’Reilly; Gonzalez, Reijnders; Foden, Cherki, Doku; Haaland

Unavailable: Kovacic (Injured)

Questionable:

Borussia Dortmund team news: Nothing fresh

There are no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for Borussia Dortmund and so Niko Kovac will be able to name an unchanged eleven as they travel to Manchester.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Kobel; Anton, Schlotterbeck, Bensebaini; Ryerson, Bellingham, Nmecha, Svensson; Adeyemi, Beier; Guirassy

Unavailable: Duranville (Injured)

Questionable:

Man City vs Borussia Dortmund prediction

Manchester City head into this one having majorly adapted their style of football. Erling Haaland is an elite form as he takes on his former side and City have been able to find ways of getting the ball too him as often as possible. Dortmund have a lot of quality of their own and have been scoring for fun in this competition. City have to be favourites with their home advantage, but it may not be straightforward.

Man City vs Borussia Dortmund Tip: Man City to win & both teams to score
