Al Hilal team news: Inzaghi’s style

Despite the fact that Al Hilal have changed their manager on the eve of the tournament, with Simone Inzaghi coming in, the Saudi Arabians have stuck with Jorge Jesus’ 4-2-3-1 system, with Inzaghi’s usual preference being a back three.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Bono; Cancelo, Tambakti, Koulibaly, Renan Lodi; Neves, N. Al Dawsari; Malcom, Milinkovic-Savic, S. Al Dawsari; Marcos Leonardo

Man City vs Al Hilal prediction

Pep Guardiola is rebuilding his Manchester City side with some big name departures and incomings. City were impressive and a lot more fluent than previously in the group stages as they defeated Wydad Casablanca by two goals to nil before a 6-0 hammering of Al Ain and then a 5-2 victory over Juventus in their final group game.

Al Hilal have played quite an entertaining style of football thus far, and were perhaps the better side against Real Madrid in a 1-1 draw in their opener. They then shared a goalless draw with Red Bull Salzburg in another game that they shaded before easing past Pachuca by two goals to nil to qualify for the Round of 16.

Al Hilal are likely to try and keep playing the ball against City, which could lead to another open and high-scoring game in which City do come out on top.
