The first-leg of this UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie last week, Malmo produced an impressive 4-1 hammering of Rigas Futbola Skola at the LNK Sporta Parks in the Latvian capital last week. Otto Rosengren opened the scoring early before Pontus Jansson made it 2-0 and then Darko Lemajic brought a goal back before half-time. Malmo then made it 4-1 late on thanks to goals from Sead Haksabanovic and then Lasse Berg Johnsen.
Malmo were impressive against Iberia earlier this month after reaching the league phase of the UEFA Europa League last season, whilst RFS made the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
RFS will believe they can be stubborn in Europe moving forward, but it remains the case that Malmo are a cut above and they can guarantee league phase football in UEFA competition this week.
