Mallorca preview: Struggling Majorcans

Real Mallorca come into this one on the back of a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Barcelona at Camp Nou due to goals in either half from Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Marc Bernal.

The Majorcans, under the management of former Osasuna boss Jago Arrasate, begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just a couple of points and places outside of the bottom three and the relegation places.

Real Betis preview: In-form Betis

Real Betis are hovering just outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots in La Liga but Los Verdiblancos did manage to recover from an emphatic 5-0 demolition at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey at La Cartuja.

The Andalusians recovered by then defeating Atleti in La Liga at the Metropolitano last week, courtesy of an excellent Antony strike. That means that Betis have now managed three victories in their last four matches.

Mallorca team news: Asano out

Versatile Japan international attacker Takuma Asano is a fresh injury concern for the Majorcans and he is unavailable for the visit of Betis to Son Moix this weekend.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Leo Roman; Pablo Maffeo, Kumbulla, Valjent, Johan Mojica; Omar Mascarell, Costa; Mateu Morey, Pablo Torre, Jan Virgili; Muriqi

Unavailable: Asano (Injured)

Questionable:

Real Betis team news: Chimy Avila a doubt

Chimy Avila is a doubt for this one. He has found some much-needed and well-timed form of late, with key man Cucho Hernandez having been unavailable for a while.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Alex Valles; Aitor Ruibal, Diego Llorente, Natan, Rodriguez; Pablo Fornals, Marc Roca, Nelson Deossa; Antony, Bakambu, Abde Ez

Unavailable: Amrabat (Injured), Lo Celso (Injured), Isco (Injured)

Questionable: Hector Bellerin (Injured), Chimy Avila (Injured), Cucho (Injured)

Mallorca vs Real Betis prediction

Real Mallorca are a stubborn side and will be awkward to play against, despite the fact that Jago Arrasate was tasked with implementing a more progressive style of football in the Balearics. Betis are a team that can be physically ruffled, though, and can often over commit so leaving Vedat Muriqi with a bit of space should provide Mallorca with the chance to back up their most recent home game – a 4-1 win over Betis’ arch-rivals Sevilla.

Mallorca vs Real Betis tip: Double chance – Mallorca to win or draw
