Key Stats

  • Malawi have lost only three of their last 16 World Cup qualifying matches in Malawi (W8 D5).
  • The only previous international match between these teams was the 1-0 victory for Equatorial Guinea in June 2024 in the current World Cup qualifying campaign.

Malawi vs Equatorial Guinea Prediction

Equatorial Guinea are a side that have been in recent CAF Africa Cup of Nations campaigns but they have underwhelmed in the last 12 to 18 months or so, though. They have managed three victories with four defeats and a draw thus far.

Malawi have the same record in terms of results and they sit above the Equatorial Guineans at the moment due to goal difference, having collected four points from two qualifiers against Namibia and then Liberia last month.

Tunisia have been runaway group winners in Group H, with Namibia in behind on 15 points and Liberia on 11, whilst Malawi and Equatorial Guinea both sit on ten thus far.

It is expected to be an evenly matched affair for these two sides, especially given the fact that Malawi have surprisingly performed better than their opposition thus far.

Malawi vs Equatorial Guinea Tip: Draw
