Under the management of Bo Henriksen, Mainz head into this one on the back of a thrilling 4-3 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga at the weekend. They sit third from bottom domestically after a difficult start but did win their opening game in this competition, defeating Omonia Nicosia by a goal to nil in Cyprus.

They now face a Zrinjski Mostar side that began their campaign in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League before stumbling into the league phase of this campaign. They then began their league phase with a comfortable defeat of Gibraltarian champions Lincoln Red Imps a few weeks ago.

Mainz are the firm favourites for this one, especially with their home advantage, despite their average form domestically and Zrinjski’s impressive opening game win.
